Gibson Les Paul – 58 Custom

Short post today. I purchased a new Gibson Les Paul from the Custom Shop last week. It's a 58 reissue. The sound is incredible.

I'll be in Boston next week for Linux Plumbers Conference and the Boston Gnome Summit. I've been working on a new project that I think developers are going to love. It combines a lot of the things I've blogged about over the last year. Catch me while I'm there for a demo.

I mostly play it through Yamaha studio monitors since my Line6 Pod Pro does cabinet emulation.

    Nothing fancy (yet).

I love Line 6 stuff. For the price you pay the tone and number of features is unbeatable, not to mention all the other added benefits of a digital workflow.

If you are interesting in getting yourself a nice tube amp though, you should have a look at all these new 1 and 5 watt tube amps that are the rage these days. Orange Tiny Terror and the Blackstar ones are two really well reviewed ones in particular. Blackstar in general are a company to definitely check out, I’ve yet to see a review for their products in a magazine that didn’t give them full marks and editors choice awards, from their stomp boxes right through to their 100 watt tube monsters.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy your new axe, its a beauty. I’m jealous.
